From Munich to Provence: Supporting the First Kubernetes Community Days Provence

Sometimes, the best community partnerships begin with an unexpected conversation at a conference booth.
During Cloud Native Summit Munich 2026, Henrik Rexed, one of the conference speakers, stopped by the ape factory booth for a conversation.
When he discovered that ape factory was not only a Munich-based engineering company but also had a French subsidiary, the conversation took an interesting turn.
Henrik, who is also part of the organizing team behind the first Kubernetes Community Days Aix-en-Provence, told us about the initiative and personally invited us to become a sponsor.
It didn’t take much convincing.

From Munich to Provence
With ape factory GmbH headquartered in Munich and ape factory SAS established in France, our company has strong connections to both countries.
Our work focuses on Kubernetes, OpenShift, platform engineering, DevOps, and cloud infrastructure. But beyond delivering production-grade engineering solutions, we believe in supporting the communities that make these technologies possible.
Over the years, we have been involved in several community conferences, including Kubernetes Community Days Munich, Cloud Native Summit Munich, and Cloud Nord in Lille.
Adding Aix-en-Provence to that journey feels particularly natural.
Supporting a First Edition
Launching a new community conference is no small undertaking.
Behind every event are organizers, volunteers, speakers, and contributors investing their time and energy to create opportunities for technical exchange.
The first Kubernetes Community Days Aix-en-Provence aims to bring together cloud-native practitioners, platform engineers, developers, and open-source enthusiasts in southern France.
For ape factory, sponsoring a first edition is about more than visibility. It is about helping a new community event establish itself and creating opportunities for knowledge sharing and collaboration.
We know from our involvement in other conferences how important early support can be.
Building Communities Across Borders
Open-source communities do not stop at national borders, and neither should the conversations around them.
